Earl ‘Roots Man’ Chin is America’s leading reggae deejay and veejay. For over three decades, his legendary television show “Rockers” was uninterruptedly on the air, broadcasting out of New York City to millions of music fans in the Tri-State area. It was the first reggae music television series – and the most authentic one. Its dynamic mix of live performances, interviews and Caribbean lifestyle coverage made it a Friday night must for legions of TV watchers. The series not only focused on reggae music, but explored a myriad of cultural segments about Jamaica, and the rising influence it had on the rest of the world.

After Bob Marley himself told Earl to bring reggae to American television, Earl was the first media personality to bring Bob to a mass television audience in the late 1970s.
